Just received the first prints of my photos! They look great! Can’t wait to frame them.

“Courage is the power to let go of the familiar.” – Raymond Lindquist October 9th 2011. I remember, I was watching TV and I was wondering what to do. I had my camera next to me and with halloween coming up we had face paint. I was already an aspiring photographer, but looking though Eleanor Hardwick’s images on Flickr I decided to make something out of it. So I pick up my camera and shoot this shot of my back (with little idea of what I was doing): <a href=”http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucasphotosinc/6226617530/in/set-72157627729652609”>www.flickr.com/photos/lucasphotosinc/6226617530/in/set-72…</a> So began my 52 week photographic journey. I downloaded a trial on photoshop and edited it (again not knowing how). I went onto my old flickr account and uploaded it. It got explored. This encouraged me to continue. I made friends here on flickr and I am grateful to every single one of them. They have helped me through this intense journey full of strong emotions. Flickr has shown me my true love in the world and I just can’t think of a way to repay you guys. Throughout this year I have met some of you on the way and you have become great friends online and offline. I have learned to much from you guys! I think, if it wasn’t for flickr and photography I’d be in a different place right now, especially mentally. The year of 2011-2012 has been a hard year at school and I can tell you that photography has helped me though those hard times. I remember coming home on harsh winter nights, already dark and leaving school at 5pm. I would head home knowing that I’d have my camera to come home to. This has also been an opportunity for me to learn about photography as a medium. I self-taught myself completely and I’m constantly learning. All in all,  I just want to say a huge thank you for the support of friends and family that I have had along the way, and I hope to be doing this for the rest of my life, income or no income. Alright, so this isn’t even photography anymore. I absolutely adored doing this though, and to be honest…. I’m proud of the concept and proud of how it came out :)! I bought loads of photos like this about 4 months ago and only now do I know what to do with them.
